Sadly, this year's primitive biathlon will be lacking a beloved friend. Hope Severance, who has been a warm and friendly co-host, and a vital part of the administrative and organizational backbone of this event since day one, lost her difficult and courageous battle with breast cancer on December 28, 2008. In honor of Hope's vivacious spirit and enthusiasm, all biathlon participants will be competing to have their name permanently engraved on the Hope Severance Memorial Horn, which will be a yearly tradition for years to come.
Overview:A primitive biathlon is a fun and challenging wilderness competition of target shooting and snowshoeing. The event is open to all muzzleloading firearm enthusiast, regardless of their skill level or athletic ability.
Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to view portions of the course. Other black powder shooting events are held throughout the weekend including a bon fire and other fun activities.
